It is important to recognize that racialized people have been used as test subjects, these unfortunate instances have led to a mistrust in the medical system. A system that is, as we’ve noted, is needed more by these groups. We need to regain and foster a level of trust, to teenage these groups in safe medical practices. This was most recently noticed during the Covid-19 pandemic and the reluctance of certain groups to get vaccinated. How can you as a healthcare professional help in this change?
